...that despite (and due to) my laziness my children are learning!!
Me: Ok, have fun. Do you need money (leafs and acorns)?
Today the conversation went like this:
(while playing pretend store and restaurant)
(while playing pretend store and restaurant)
Gabby: Mom, I'm going to the store to buy 2 bacons and a mushroom.
Me: Ok, have fun. Do you need money (leafs and acorns)?
Gabby: No, I don't need money.
Me: Why not? We always need money to buy stuff.
Gabby: No, mom. The machine is broken. They are cleaning it. We just take the food because no one is at the store.
Me: Of course!
(this statement is a direct result of me driving to not one, but TWO McDonalds yesterday, in search of ice cream that could be bought at a drive through window... all because I didn't feel like putting the girls shoes on and the first one didn't have ice cream because their machine 'was broken and shut down because they were cleaning it.')
here is Gabby, shortly after this convo, pretending she is sleeping beauty
Gabby journaling... so dramatic!
Also, we are dealing with a lot of bodily fluid around our house at the moment (probably a direct result of the quest for drive through sweet treats)
Emmy has had some DISGUSTING diapers (imagine all you want) that are NOT contained by her diapers. After changing 6 McNasty (pun intended) diapers from 3-8 pm and 1 at 11:30, I was pooped! :) (that is almost as cheesy as the Today Show jokes!) Needless to say, it was Derek's turn for the 1:30 crying baby.
Ahh... insert a peaceful sigh of sweet relief...
{break up moment of sweetness}
Derek: Honey, I think something is wrong with Em.
Me: What?
Derek: I don't know. She is not ok. She doesn't look well and she is soaking wet. You should check on her.
Me: What?! (still 1/2 asleep)... insert growing FEAR... you see this child gets fevers... MAD, BAD Fevers... like the call 911, ambulance, ER, paramedics type of fevers.
Derek: Just check on her.
Me: Fine (fear wins)
...
I find a fever free, POOP soaked baby.
Nice
Thanks husband for handing that one off to me.
I was a 'little' angry (and I can't believe he wants 6 kids) until I awoke to a 5:30am alarm (to go running) and found my cute husband in a make shift bed on the floor because Gabby had come to cuddle and had taken over his spot on the bed. He loves his kiddos sooo much!!
How could you not love this sweet face~
side note... Emmy is teething hence awful diapers... no worries!
Hope you have a great poop in its place evening! :)
