Transportation Museum...

Ok... I have decided that going places with the girls is so much fun!!

They don't fight and argue (as much)

They don't whine (as much)

and they genuinely have a great time learning about the different places we go!

So, in need of some much needed transportation language (due to the severe lack of boy influence in our house), we headed to the transportation museum.

It is seriously amazing! It is one of the few museums in STL that costs money: aka, it is not way overcrowded like some (and it is cheap with the purchase of a membership that pays for itself in two visits).

Hope you enjoy a snippet from the trains!

Emmy in the honorary "Daddy Train" (being that he is from the Northwest...westsiiiide W)

Grandma in her Monsanto car... she was so excited when she saw this that she told me all about where this train went and what it hauled... blah... and blah... :) She is so cute!

Gabby heading up the train steps... it is so cool to go into some of these old trains!

Emmy driving the train... from the back (yes we have a lot to learn!)

the girls running through the trains

I love these little attitude faces... like I said, not AS MUCH whining!

I love how they just decided to sit on this blue train bench... it looks so artsy!! (aka me trying to photograph like tlohsephotography.com)

ditto...

enjoying creation station... a very cute, fun room filled with transportation 'stuff'

Gabby putting on a puppet show... she was a doctor (and hasn't stopped playing doctor since!)

In the pirate boat... and I didn't cringe AT ALL when she started putting on the play clothes... nope not one bit!! Lice doesn't exist on play clothes... right!?

picture frame craft... not quite understanding that pictures of her face go in the frame not her actual face

My little sweetie with her colors...

It was a great day!

more dancing...

More dance pictures... we are loving dance around our house.

It is talked about... a lot!

I really am so excited Gabby likes it.

I wasn't sure if she would go for it... she is deaf, after all, and no one really knows what music sounds like in cochlear implants and to top it off she has NO athletic talent (at this point)(I am still holding out hope and we are loading her up with gear... the CUTEST Adidas soccer shoes EVER!). But, her teacher is amazing and she really loves it! Emmy does too!

Emmy in her tutu and ballet shoes... she LOVES dressing in them!

see... she LOVES being a princess!

note: these pictures were taken before their haircuts! = RAGAMUFFINS

more dancing moves

Emmy showing us her skills too... she SOOOO wants to do dance with Gabby. I have a feeling 'dancing with mommy in the lobby' won't cut it much longer! YIKES!

Monogram Mondays...

So... I decided right here and now that Mondays are going to be 'Monogram Mondays' and I am going to show you some of the fun embroidery I have been working on.

You see... I take the weekends off. I AM MOM (hear me roar) and I do no blogging and no embroidery. So when Monday AM rolls around I think the embroidery is a good way to get me kick started into blog world again (not to mention my JOB!).

Hope you enjoy all the fun stuff!

While I was folding laundry in the playroom the other day...

I had to make a phone call....

when I came back the girls had decided that Daddy's boxers would be the most fun dress clothes!

emmy and her...

THUMB!!!

You need some background to fully understand this post...

Gabby is a thumb sucker... an ALL the TIME thumb sucker and we have tried EVERYTHING to get her to stop... threats, rewards, band aids, Tabasco, Thumbz, books about bad habits, talking about it, yelling about it, whispering about it... you get the idea.

When Ems came along we PUSHED the paci and I MEAN PUSHED!. She didn't want it for the first 4 months of her life but you better believe we were NOT going to get another thumb sucker. You just can't take a thumb away! You can take a paci away.

Anywho, lately this is what Emmy bear does in the car. WHAT!!??!

At this point I think she just knows she is being funny but she has good form and she does suck that little thumb.

relaxing...

CAUGHT!
I love the little finger on top of her nose

on another note...

do you think I have been taking enough pictures lately... this is Emmy taking MY picture!

Emmy's First Hair Cut

Emmy had her first haircut!!!
We were beginning to call her 'little mullet' and it was so true. She has this beautiful head of curls and now NO MORE mullet.
yes... they did bribe her with a 'Popsicle' (ems word for lollipop)

We took her to my girl Erica who is a curl cutting expert!
Gabby is off to the side showing Emmy her curls as they were cut.
NO MORE MULLET!

She did great!

Everybody Dance Now... barmp barmp

Gabby had her first dance class last week! It was beyond precious! All the little girls loved twirling and G did a great job pointing her toes and arms. She loved it!

Long story short... I had really procrastinated on registering and of course by the time I got around to it the dance studio was closed for a 2 week break. I ended up just taking Gabby to the class in the hopes we could register on the spot. Everything worked great and they were happy to have her in the class... the only issue was that I didn't want to get Gab's hopes up and then get turned away, so I didn't get her any 'ballerina clothes or shoes or tights.' You get the idea! I dressed her in pink and she fit right in but she did try to curtsy with her shorts... pretty funny! Needless to say, the two of us went on a date the next day to the 'ballerina store.' It was precious watching her pick out her new leotards and get fitted for her 'funny shoes.' I will be sure to post more pics of her in her other leotards... I don't even know which one is my favorite. They are SOOO cute!!

The sky on the way to dance... almost turned around and went home!
Our good buddy Claire who does dance with Gabby

She did a great job listening to the teacher and following all the directions
Notice Gabby with her hands pointed STRAIGHT out! She was very precise... there's a shocker!

READY FOR DANCE AGAIN!
